University of Michigan students during the spring of 1992. After cultivating interest on Grateful Dead tours and at music festivals around the country, we officially began wholesaling our Devil Stixx™ to outdoor retailers throughout the country the following fall.
For the last 15+years, we have based our business on Martha's Vineyard, a small island located nine miles off the coast of Massachusetts, but we still travel to be part of the music whenever possible. There is something very fundamental in the relationship between the Stixx and the music--it's one of the reasons we always suggest having your favorite tunes accompany your jam sessions.
In addition to our signature genuine Devil Stixx, we have been molding 175-gram ultimate discs for almost 10 years now, utilizing post-consumer recycled plastic. In addition to our own branded versions, we also complete private label projects. Many of you have probably played with our discs emblazoned with the logos of Phish, Dave Matthews Band, John Mayer, Bonnaroo, Odwalla, or Widespread Panic (or at least seen them at shows).
We count ourselves fortunate for all the exciting opportunities and experiences we have had being part of such a dynamic scene since we started our business. We have always guaranteed our products and will continue to do so. Founded on strict principles, Funn & Frolic has from day one turned down every opportunity to take our manufacturing overseas, and we will continue to do so. We take great pride in knowing how our materials are manufactured and where exactly they come from. We hope our concern for quality is reflected in our products.
